My clock is working again, hanging on my wall.
Making that sound – tick tack tick tack tick tack.
Measuring my life.
I’m walking around it, I try not to see it.
But I do.
And I’ve been wanting to live more, wanting to see more.
But it’s blocking my view.
I’m passing my mirror, my big mirror, hanging in my hall.
Reflecting an image of a person, that’s representing me.
I keep my eyes down, I’m not looking.
Oh, but I do.
And I’ve been wanting to be more, wanting to see more.
But that glass is not see through.
And so we go all of our days trying to make meaning.
To live in this world with all its stop signs.
To know, to know, to know, well it’s to know when to break the rules.
The rules, the rules, the rules.
Break the rules. |
